How I update my home page?
Go to your MY ACCOUNT link, which is located under POET TOOLS, in the left border of the site.

How much is an annual membership?
As of March 23, 2009 it is $34.95. This gives you complete access to the site. No other fees are required.

Why are some poem titles maroon, and other purple?
Maroon titles means that those poems are for sharing only; no reviews are required. Purple titles denotes that you have already reviewed that poem.

Why can't I post a poem?
Prior to posting your 3 poems per day, you must respond to the ratings you have received. Once you complete the ratings that are more than 24 hours old you can post poems again.

Where can I get site help?
Click on "HELP" and then select "Getting Started." You may also want to visit "Site Facts, Tips, Hints." Finally, feel free to Contact Admin or another member on the site.

Why can't I send a message?
You must maintain less than 20 messages both in your INBOX and your OUTBOX in order to continue sending messages. Be sure to delete both boxes frequently.

How are contest winners determined?
All contests are decided by the members. There is no influence from the administration.

How do I change the order of my poems?
The best way is to go to MY POEMS LIST and click on "Active." This will make that poem "Inactive", thereby changing the order and which poems are shown. Do this frequently to show only the poems you want more reviews for!

What if I don't want reviews from someone?
Go to MY ACCOUNT and scroll to the bottom to view your IGNORE LIST. Simply move a poet onto your list and they will be unable to review or message you.

How do I become an "Emerging Poet?"
We have lots of recognition programs on the site. Click on "HELP" and go to "Awards and Recognition" to read abou them all.

How can I get featured in "Ruminations?"
The sure way to get featured is to win a monthly, quarterly, or yearly award. We also randomly select different poets for each Quarterly issue.

How come I cannot see my name in the Directory of Members?"
You are able to see everyone but yourself. The fact that you are onsite means you are active and that others can see you.

What is the Red Star next to a poet's name?
That is their online presence indicator. You can edit yours by going into MY ACCOUNT and selecting 1 of 3 options.

Is there a list of all the site links in one place?
Yes, under your POET TOOLS section click on "Site Map" and you can see all the site links categorized by menus.

I would like to enter other poetry contests. Have you any advice?
Yes! We maintain a huge database of reputable poetry contests and publications that offer grants & awards. Go to SITE FEATURES and click on Poetic Fortune.

Why do some parts of the site look different than others?
We maintain 4 addresses: .com, .org, .net, and .biz. We pay programmers to maintain .com, but Rob--the Founder--maintains the other addresses and isn't as savvy when it comes to programming :)

What does the number next to my poem titles signify?
The number of reviews that poem has received. Always make poems with lots of reviews "Inactive." That way, the poems with fewest reviews will be seen more on your poems list. You do not lose any points or status when making a poem inactive.

What are other methods of payment I can use to join?
You may mail a payment for anything greater than a 3 month membership. The mail-in form can be found by going to HELP and then clicking on "Membership Options. Here is the address just the same:

What does the (tm) next to a member's name signify?
The (tm) signifies that member is a Trial Member and is not yet fully joined World of Poets.

Where are the Poetry Videos?
Poetry videos can be found by going to SITE FEATURES and clicking on "Poet's View.
